Gallweys Chocolates - down through the Ages

The story goes back to the 17th Century, when traders from Ireland forged links with Spanish and French Wine and Spirit makers. The Gallwey name itself can be traced back to Henrietta Gallwey who became the Marquessa of Goulaine and traded Muscadet from Western France.

The Gallwey family name goes back generations. In 1835 Henry Gallwey started his famous Whiskey Blending business. Hence the secret Whiskey Truffle recipe.

Gallweys handmade chocolates are also winners of numerous great taste awards and we are proud to use the original secret recipes from 1835 and our traditional methods, combined with the finest ingredients, ensure that each chocolate truffle gives that special classical taste.
